Job Summary

This position is crucial for the efficient operation of the production floor. The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling products, ensuring product quality, maintaining production schedules, and assisting in troubleshooting production issues. The role also involves ensuring that safety and organizational standards are followed, while working effectively with team members to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

Production Operation

  • Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment to ensure smooth operations
  • Follow production schedules and adjust processes as necessary to meet deadlines
  • Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on production equipment
  • Ensure equipment and workstations are kept clean and in working order
  • Basic cable routing, crimping and labeling under supervision
  • Assist with tubing fitting and hose routing
  • Use calipers, torque drivers and multimeters correctly

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety procedures (EHS, ESD and PPE) and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
  • Reports hazards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production floor

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with other production staff to meet production targets
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding production progress, issues, or delays
  • Asks questions; follow directions, has reliable attendance

Qualification and Skills

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic knowledge of production equipment, machinery, and processes is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes and procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical or technical issues quickly and efficiently
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a production environment, which may include exposure to noise, heat, and machinery
  • Regular use of production equipment and tools
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry materials up to 50 pounds

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Previous experience working in semiconductor industry
  • Performs LOTO on complex equipment, coaches other on safe practices
  • Interprets complex drawings and schematics; flags drawing/BOM errors to engineering
  • Uses advanced test gear (megohmmeter, hipot tester, leak detector)
  • Diagnoses mechanical, electrical and fluid faults at system level’ works directly with test engineering
  • Implements Lean improvements, supports NPI builds and feedback
  • Formally trains Tech (Low) and Tech (Mid), can serve as subject-matter expert
